There are very generally two different thicknesses of watch back, thin/light and thick/heavy. This is a very intentional over-generalization, but keeping this in mind is helpful when it comes to engraving stainless steel watch backs.

This saved me a few days ago as well. I had forgotten about it but one of our Jewelers reminded me about this post. I went through the instructions and the software started operating as it should.

One caveat to laser engraving pewter, wood, and other materials is to be sure to remove the background if it is just a solid color. Another way to say this is to use images with a transparent background.
